Agence Ometz

Social Services

OVERVIEW

About Agence Ometz:

Agence Ometz is a 3-star charity. It is financially transparent, has overhead spending within Ci's reasonable range, and has below-average reporting of its results for donors.

Founded in 2008, Agence Ometz is a multi-service agency serving Montreal's Jewish community. It formed after a merger between Jewish Employment Montreal, Jewish Family Services, and Jewish Immigration Aid Services. Its mission is to help people fulfill their potential and secure the Montreal community's growth and vitality. Agence Ometz divides its programs into three areas: social services, employment, and immigration support.

In F2022, Agence Ometz allocated 71% of program spending to its social services programs. Agence Ometz offers community services for families, youth, and individuals. Programs include counselling and crisis intervention, mental health support, parenting workshops, financial assistance, and child development services. Agence Ometz reports that 765 youth participated in group discussions about healthy relationships, internet safety, bullying, sexuality, and school transitions in F2022. Additionally, 1,000 adults participated in financial assistance programs, 150 children were screened for motor difficulties and speech disorders, 505 people received counselling services, and 377 received mental health support.

Agence Ometz's employment programs accounted for 20% of program spending in F2022. The charity reports that it helped 1,047 people improve their job market skills and find job opportunities in F2022.

In F2022, Agence Ometz spent 9% of program costs on immigration programs, which support people before and after their move to Canada. In F2022, Agence Ometz provided 809 newcomer families with information and support during their immigration.

RESULTS & IMPACT

Agence Ometz reports that its programs help people with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder improve their quality of life, personal well-being, and employment status.

While Charity Intelligence highlights these key results, they may not be a complete representation of Agence Ometz's results and impact. This charity is not yet rated on impact (n/r).

FINANCES

Agence Ometz had total donations of $4.1m in F2022. Federation CJA is a major donor to Agence Ometz, providing 46% of total donations received during the year. Administrative costs are 13% of revenue (less investment income), and fundraising costs are 6% of donations. This results in total overhead spending of 20%. For every dollar donated, 80 cents go to the cause, which is within Ci's reasonable range for overhead spending.

Agence Ometz has $3.3m in funding reserves, which could cover 65% or almost eight months of its annual program costs.

This charity report is an update that has been sent to Agence Ometz for review. Comments and edits may be forthcoming.
